Few visitors to Pearl Harbor realize that on December 7, 1941 the Japanese simultaneously attacked Wheeler Field in central Oahu. The Zeros came screaming through Kolekole Pass (pictured here) on their way to strafe and bomb Wheeler.

Fran and Marti drove up to the view the pass marked by a huge white cross that is visible miles away.
